Webster Point was a new condominium project and the result of a 4 year partnership process with the Town of Orono to redevelop a tax-acquired mill site and has resulted in an unproductive liability being put back on the tax rolls using private investment as well as grants from state and federal sources. The development also illustrates DC’s persistence: when financing proved to be unavailable for the original multi-story building design, DC stepped in a re-design the buildings and began building them themselves, without outside financing in order to fulfill their commitment to the town.
Set at the water’s edge where the Stillwater and Penobscot Rivers meet, Webster Point offers 2 bedroom, 2 full bathroom units with a mix of larger and smaller units. Amenities with each unit include walk-in closets, living/dining are open space concept, hardwood floors, granite kitchens, energy efficient appliances, full basements, and garaged parking. The 8 condominiums are surrounded by beautiful landscaped grounds and are walking distance from the downtown and University of Maine. The 3.82 acre site offers its residents a tranquil living environment in a charming university town with spectacular water views and direct access.
